Spray-on Film Turns Windows into Solar Panels

How about this, utilizing current window space and turning it into transparent solar panels. This article is a few months old, however I found it very interesting due to its nature! They are developing a spray on film that would still allow the windows to be transparent, but would harness the sun's solar energy. Think of the amount of energy that could be contained on a single skyscraper if they were able to perfect this innovation. It would be a great source for renewable energy. Hello sunlight, good-bye coal and black smoke pollution, well maybe someday. Untill that day comes keep an eye out on this and other solar technologies like it. They are prediciting that they may have it fully developed by 2016.  Continue to let me know what you think! I'm loving the comments..... :)

  1. I'd love to have my windows charging my cell phone! I wonder though, just how much energy the film can produce. Would it be enough to power a skyscraper, or just offset energy costs? Good food for thought, though, and great to see that innovation continues everywhere!

But in all seriousness, this is awesome! I hope they can perfect this sort of thing!
