Don't get me wrong I love an occasional snow day, however wouldn't it be nice to be able to wake up the next morning and admire the snow from a pleasantly melted road or sidewalk. You wouldn't have to worry about slipping on ice, or experiencing the wet bootleg that happens once you finally make it inside. I personally wouldn't mind being able to go the places I would want to go without letting a few inches of snow stand in my way! This article is precisely about that. They have come up with a way to harness solar energy and use it towards melting roadways! However don't expect it to happen anytime soon.............but wouldn't it be nice, just think about it! :)

That is a good idea! Though you bring up a good point about not being able to have snow days. haha. I might miss that! But in the end I think it'd be worth it.
ReplyDeleteI would love these! I got stuck in my driveway the first week of school, and had to walk 10 blocks in the snow from my apartment!
ReplyDeleteI wonder how the glass would provide traction, though. Would they texture it somehow? Would tires have to change to fit the new roads?
Oh wow this would be amazing considering just yesterday morning I got stuck in our apartment parking lot because it was completely covered in ice. We spent about 15 minutes pushing it until finally the maintenance guy showed up with some sand ice melt. With this creation...I wouldn't have to worry about that.
